Indira Burman

Indira Burman is a philanthropist and social worker working in the areas of healthcare, women empowerment, and primary & secondary education. Over her years of communal service, she has worked to uplift India’s most economically underprivileged societies.

Some of her initiatives include setting up Som Dutt Clinics in Shakarpur, New Delhi, rehabilitation of Sundarbans Mangroves and promoting menstrual hygiene among women in rural India.

Pradip Burman

Pradip Burman (Emeritus Chairman)

The great-grandson of Dabur India Ltd’s founder Dr S.K Burman, Mr. Pradip Burman is one of the founders of Sustainable Development Society (SUNDESH). A visionary entrepreneur and philanthropist, Mr Burman has been working in the areas of Education, Women Empowerment and Environment Sustainability, and campaigning for social changes since a young age. He has been instrumental in rolling out various programmes aimed at improving the livelihood of the poor in India.


Poonam Singh Parihar ( Secretary)

Poonam Singh Parihar, M.A., M.Ed., Diploma in ECCE, PG Diploma in Operations Management, currently pursuing Ph.D. in Social Work on “Study on the effect of community based feminine hygiene programs in Rural India” is a Multi-dimensional Professional having diverse experience exceeding 20 yrs. in the field of Academics as well as Social work. She is working as Manager Operations with Mobius Foundation, a New Delhi based Sustainable Think-Tank that works towards environmental sustainability through Education and Population Stabilisation campaigns. Under the umbrella of the Mobius foundation she coordinated to setup ‘Gyan Anant Vidyalaya School’ in Pilkhuwa, Ghaziabad. As Executive Member of SUNDESH, she has an objective of holistic development of rural areas by integrated Community Development Programmes through Women Empowerment. Wherein, she has a vision to craft and execute various need-based projects aimed at improving the living conditions of rural populace and enhancing the quality of life of marginalised and underprivileged sections of the society, particularly adolescent groups and women with projects of Menstrual Health Management in rural and urban schools.

Dr. Gautam Vohra

Dr. Gautam Vohra is currently the Chairperson of Credibility Alliance, a consortium of 550 NGOs located throughout the country. He was educated at the Doon School and King’s College London University. He acquired a PhD with his study on the changing profile of the Indian political elite.

Dr. Gautam joined the Times of India in 1970 as an editorial writer (Assistant Editor). Dr. Gautam left journalism as Editor of Sunday Times in 1985 to undertake field studies on behalf of private foundations like the Aga Khan Foundation, Hinduja Foundation, Oxfam America and CASP-Plan International. He also undertook assignments for government agencies such as the National Wasteland Development Board of the Ministry of Environment and Forests and the Council for Advancement of People’s Action and Rural Technology (CAPART), Ministry of Rural Development. Many of these studies have been published as books; the one published by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences became a textbook.


Anubhuti Mehta

Mrs Anubhuti Mehta, Former Assistant Commissioner, Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan is a passionate Educationist. Having served in various capacities with KVS for more than three decades in school Education, she decided to venture out in Private sector. She believes in “Giving back to Society” by contributing qualitatively into philanthropic missions of various NGOs with best of her knowledge & wisdom. She was Chairperson of Aganwadis under the Delhi Govt scheme & volunteer to many non-governmental organisations like Bharti Foundation, Lakshmipat Singhania foundation & Amitasha. She has extensively worked in school education across length and breadth of the country. She is the author of Environment Science Text book series for Primary children. She is well-travelled & understands the need of providing quality education to rural children. Her experience will bring lot of value to impart & plan the roadmap of Quality education for rural India. She is widely networked in school space PAN India. She is committed to contribute qualitatively, especially in school Education & employability.

Dr. Madhu Gupta

Dr. Madhu Gupta, a graduate from Lady Hardinge Medical College, post graduate from Chittaranjan Seva Sadan, Kolkata and colposcopist, is Director and Senior Consultant Gynecologist and Obstetrician of Navjeevan Nursing Home. In about 45 years of experience in dealing with female patients across all economic strata, she saw that women neglect themselves over their family. With a vision of reaching the poorest of the poor, she, along with a few doctors and home makers, started a trust 9 years ago, “BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW” as the Chief Trustee. The focus is on menstrual hygiene & green menstruation; reproductive health of women with special focus on prevention of gynecological & breast cancer through awareness, early diagnosis through screening and treatment of pre-malignant lesions and coordinate with Government medical colleges for treatment if diagnosed with cancer. To achieve this mission, the trust works in collaboration with social clubs; corporate; district hospital; institutions; schools; and village panchayats. Till now, about 12000 women have been screened and more than 2000 girls vaccinated against cervical cancer. Further, in August ‘22, the Trust has vaccinated 700 under privileged girls from 9 to 14 years of age, funded by Rotary Club of Sahibabad, in Government schools in Ghaziabad. She is also on the POSH committee of various corporate and PAC.


Prachi Kaushik

Prachi a women entrepreneur started social enterprise VYOMINI in 2017 to provide solution for the environment & economic challenges. She experienced that women health and her economic empowerment are two major issues in the overall development of the women. Which she has faced throughout her life, being a girl from poor family she has started earning from very young age and soon realized the importance of women economic empowerment. She has worked with government and non-government organizations and understood the ground dynamics for the development projects. It was her passion to server more women therefore she has founded VYOMINI ENTERPRISES in 2017 a woman led organization which is working in the manufacturing sector.
