Swawlamban

The youth in villages of Dhaulana were usually denied better opportunities in life due to lack of job skills. SUNDESH identified this problem and partnered with IL&FS Training and Placement to bridge this gap. A programme called ‘Swawalamban’ was launched with the objective of providing job-oriented skills to youth, facilitating 100% placements.

Under this joint initiative, the village youth were trained in various trades with SUNDESH providing financial support of Rs. 25,000/- to each candidate. Training was provided in crafts like:

  • Fitter
  • CNC (Computer Numerical Control) operator

SUNDESH mobilized candidates from more than 20 villages, identifying 280 eligible candidates who also showed interest in undergoing this skill development training. To create awareness about the skill development initiative, a job fair was organized and the candidates were assessed for their employability skills, knowledge and ability to perform. Based on this, candidates were trained for fitter & CNC and offered employment opportunities.
