About Us
Sundesh is a manifestation of Dr SK Burman’s visionary pursuit to uplift and empower the weaker and vulnerable segments of Indian society. Since its establishment in 1994, the Social Development Society (Sundesh) has been a steadfast force, working silently yet tirelessly to foster self-reliance within economically marginalized communities. The NGO is committed to the holistic development of vulnerable populations in both urban and rural areas through the implementation of Integrated Community Development Programmes.
Sundesh, a visionary initiative driven by Emeritus Chairman Mr Pradip Burman, is dedicated to uplifting the weaker and vulnerable sections of our society, including women, children, illiterate and unemployed. Established with a commitment to sustainable development, Sundesh focuses on three key pillars: Environment, Economy and Community. With over 30 years of experience in the social development sector, SUNDESH began its journey by providing healthcare services and has since evolved to address various issues related to rural development on a sustainable basis.
During its impactful journey, Sundesh has contributed to numerous worthy causes, such as addressing the literacy rate among young children, improving healthcare services, promoting skill development and championing environmental initiatives.
SUNDESH, an outcome of the vision of Emeritus Chairman Mr. Pradip Burman, was formed to reach out to the weaker and vulnerable sections such as women & children, illiterate & unemployed of our society. SUNDESH works towards sustainable development in 3 key areas – Environment, Economy & Community. SUNDESH has been involved in the social development sector for more than 27 years, starting with health care services and gradually working on issues related to rural development on a sustainable basis. Over the years, SUNDESH has contributed to many worthy causes, such as addressing children’s literacy, improving healthcare services, skill development, and environment, to name a few.
