POSHAN KI OR

The population in our target area consists predominantly of daily wage workers (80%) and women working as maids and factory workers. Alarmingly, 90% of families consume contaminated water, and approximately 90% of women and adolescent girls are anaemic, highlighting significant health and hygiene issues.

The ‘Poshan Ki Or’ project, implemented in Ghaziabad and Hapur, prioritizes the health and nutrition of vulnerable populations, especially adolescent girls and government school students. Our comprehensive Awareness & Advocacy Programs on Health & Nutrition aim to empower these groups with essential knowledge and resources for better health outcomes.

Tailored health camps screen for anaemia and other diseases, offering personalized solutions and nutritional support to ensure well-being.

We track progress through Body Mass Index (BMI) and Hb measurements and collaborate with health departments and local communities to achieve sustainable results. Capacity-building sessions, including Mental Health Workshops and Menstrual Health Awareness sessions, enhance the impact of our interventions. Additionally, eye checkup camps address vision health among our target groups.

Through these concerted efforts, 'Poshan Ki Or' significantly improves the health and nutrition outcomes of adolescent girls and government school students within the community.

Success story: Following the school eye check-up, 74 out of 1012 students needed spectacles, provided by the health department to address visual impairments. Additionally, deworming was administered to 152 students. These interventions support optimal learning and well-being.
