The Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) 2022 reveals that only about 50% of rural children in grade 5 can read a grade 2 level text, underscoring significant educational gaps. This issue is exacerbated by a shortage of qualified teachers, resulting in high student-to-teacher ratios and insufficient individual attention. Since 2013, Sundesh has addressed these challenges through its Gyan Arjan Kendra initiative and has supported 1356 students to date. It is currently working with government schools in Khurshedpur, Alampur, and Shamli. Each centre, serving 30 students, offers personalised academic support in core subjects such as mathematics, science, and language arts.
