Mahiney ke Woh Panch Din

As per the latest census women comprise of 48% of Indian population out of which about 20% are referred as adolescent girls in the age group of 12 to 18 years. An adolescent undergoes important physical and psychological changes during this period. Lack of knowledge regarding reproductive health including menstruation hygiene which can be due to socio-cultural barriers / taboos (in which they grow up) lead to various physiological and psychological problems in later stages of life. To address these issues Sundesh organized a month-long campaign on MHM name as ‘Mahiney Ke Woh Panch Din’ at Inter Colleges (8th to 12th Schools) of Hapur District in UP, which commenced on Monday 1st May, 2023 and concluded the same on Saturday, 28th May 2023 on Menstrual Hygiene Day.

OBJECTIVE:

⬧ The core objective of this workshop is to educate the adolescent girls about MHM so that they can understand, talk & discuss freely while managing their menstrual health to confidently approach their life goals.
⬧ To act as catalyst on the issue that is crippled by taboos and lack of correct information on the subject.
⬧ To promote sustainable solutions for MHM (adoption of bio degradable nature friendly options)
⬧ To create a network of volunteers & government bodies (schools & local administration) to act as catalyst for future actions
