Mrs. Kumkum is the resident of village Shoulana. She has 3 children. Her husband has a private job. She loves doing makeup and wanted to convert this inclination into a source of earning. For this, she underwent a beautician training in a centre run by Sundesh in her village and began saving 100rs. per month, becoming a member of ‘Yash’ SHG. Slowly, the relations in the SHG became stronger and she took Rs.20,000 as loan at an interest rate of 2% and open a beauty parlour and cosmetics shop, adding some amount from her savings. Her shop began to generate good income soon. Now she goes to Delhi to purchase the cosmetics and other materials needed for the shop. She earns 5,000-8,000rs. per month from her shop. Her enthusiasm and dedication towards her work has increased over time. She praises Sundesh society for helping her and also for rendering support for the construction of a toilet in her house and making her village Shoulana an Open Defecation Free village. Kumkum says “Sundesh helps turn everyone’s dreams into reality and helps everyone prosper.
